BLIK BLIK Festival of Light and Art @PILSEN
SOV is a "capacity building program for local talents related to Pilsen Region" to discover and approach light as a sensitive tool to describe, expand and embed visual storytelling into experiential space; an event that aims to promote and develop online solutions for distance learning, a challenging opportunity oriented towards the near future.
City of Pilsen as a former European Capital of Culture is taking care about local talents and as a result of that organises the first edition of School of Videomapping within BLIK BLIK festival of light and art in public space in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
The School of Videomapping is a training initiative for creators from various areas at BLIK BLIK Festival, a festival organised by DEPO2015, Creative Zone. Learn more about us here.
The program is led by professor Luca Pulvirenti, founder and Creative Director @mammasONica Studio.
Working language is English, but don’t worry. If you are not fluent, the visual language is universal for all of us from the creative sector ;-).
Participants will present their final work on the facade of the Education and Research Library of Pilsener Region (U Branky) during the BLIK BLIK Festival of light and art in public space , between 24 - 25 MARCH 2023. The winner of the contest will receive the prize money 20.000 CZK.
The course is aimed at both beginners and professionals, showing new possibilities towards the application of projection technologies in areas like architecture, design, installation, visual arts, theatre and multimedia environment. Previous successful edition @ PRISMA Festival in Aveiro proved that ideal participants of the program are recruited from the field of creative industries: photo, video, graphics design, light design, performing arts and multimedia art.
The program is structured between online introduction and onsite modules around theoretical studies and workshop’s practice; a new training format that gives ample space to new forms of learning, thus aimed to create virtual shared workspaces.
The program is open to max 15participants that are related to Pilsen Region (not necessarily to have a permanent residency, but the project is a capacity building for the region…) . . Each student will share their unique approach with the group and the final outcome will consider individuals’ goals as well as promoting sharing ideas and methods.
All Throughout the workshop we will:
