Third edition of this capacity building programme found ideal spot within Prisma.
Aveiro is taking care about local talents and as a result of that organizes the third edition of School of Videomapping. After the test of this contest in 2021 at Praca República this venue becomes the entrance of the festival and major party zone at once.
The School of Videomapping is a training initiative for creators from various areas at PRISMA / Art Light Tech, a festival organised by the Aveiro City Council (CMA) and Teatro Aveirense, with the seal of Aveiro 2027 – Candidate City to European Capital of Culture.
SOV is a "capacity building program for local talents" to discover and approach light as a sensitive tool to describe, expand and embed visual storytelling into experiential space; an event that aims to promote and develop online solutions for distance learning, a challenging opportunity oriented towards the near future.
Participants will present their final work on the facade of the District Council of Aveiro during the PRISMA / Art Light Tech festival, between 14>15 October 2022, helping to show the city under a new light and provide a rediscovery of its territory. Selected works will have the chance to win free software licenses, kindly offered by our sponsors.
The course is aimed at both beginners and professionals, showing new possibilities towards the application of projection technologies on areas like architecture, design, installation, visual arts, theatre and multimedia environment.
It's structured between online, blended and onsite modules around theoretical studies and workshop’s practice; a new training format that give ample space to new forms of learning, thus aimed to create virtual shared workspaces.
The program is open to 15 participants, from listed cities: Aveiro, Águeda, Albergaria A Velha, Anadia, Estarreja, Ílhavo, Murtosa, Ovar, Oliveira do Bairro, Sever do Vouga, Vagos. Each student will share their unique approach with the group and the final outcome will consider individuals’ goals as well as promoting sharing ideas and methods.
All Throughout the workshop we will:
• EXPLORE various set-up and techniques
• PRACTICE on several software/hardware solution available
• DEVELOP relations between light, objects, spaces
