A vertical shift
Every year, as dusk descends upon the city of Wrocław, “Kinomural” animates the city walls, blending audiovisual art into its urban fabric. Artists worldwide contribute to transforming the cityscape into a futuristic panorama, illuminating streets with flashes and sounds. In 2022, we showcased “Converse” as part of this open-air audio-visual gallery, projecting a monumental motion onto the walls of the historic suburb of Pracze Odrzańskie.
“Converse” sparks an open-ended dialogue stemming from the subjective nature of the artistic encounter. From a blank wall emerges a liquid mural, a tribute to graphic design and street art, shaping a narrative woven by the viewer’s perception. This innovative project reimagines the spatial experience, drawing inspiration from vertical cinema and enveloping the viewer within the animated world.
A simple vertical shift enlivens the public space with the radiance of transparency. Sensory cinema expands along a new axis, pushing art beyond its formal boundaries and the fleeting moment. Unique design and structural arrangements captivate the audience, prompting reflections on space, viewer, and creator. The glimpse of an imaginary universe that transcends mediums and techniques traverses the façade before reverting to its original form.
