The enchanting universal language of patterns illuminated the monumental waterfalls of Wadi Namar and reverberated among its rocks during the 2022 edition of “Noor Riyadh”, the world’s largest light art festival. Among the selected artworks at this open-air gallery, “PoƏms” depicts a visual abstraction that delves into the plastic essence of matter and its latent kinetic properties.
The concept behind this piece takes the purest idea of cinematography (from kìnema “movement” and γράφειν, gràphein “to write”) a step further by transforming static objects into pulsating, breathing entities through the application of projected light. The outcome is a colossal photogenic entity, a luminous sculpture that moulds plasticity from the stone and releases its hidden kinetic potential.
In every chapter of “PoƏms,” natural motifs and generative filmmaking shimmer in the cinematic space and guide the viewer towards universal ubiquity. The hypnotic soundtrack by Giancarlo Trimarchi mirrors the aesthetic interplay between order and motion, embodying a poetic perspective that transcends words.

In an ancient future where electric canvases shape stones and neon glazes meld with archetypal patterns, a journey unfolds toward higher dimensions, far beyond the threshold of reason. The viewer gets swallowed in swirls of contrasts, similarities, diffractions, and convergences. Uncharted realms await discovery, where humanity harmonises with nature’s universal language and ceaseless rhythm.
THE URBAN SPACE
The natural beauty of Wadi Namar Dam Park positions it as a primary tourist attraction and a serene retreat for Riyadh’s residents. Within the park’s many splendid features, a monumental waterfall stands out-a revitalising oasis nestled amidst the desert of towering rocks along the promenade.
As it encounters the natural surface, “PoƏms” embraces its vast proportions and breathes life into the static rocks, with the waterfall enhancing the dynamism of this luminous tableau vivant. Within this picturesque setting, a mysterious gaze becomes inexorably fixed on the viewer, blurring the distinction between nature and the machine.
