you {promised: me; }: poƏms

This chapter of “PoƏms” introduces the language of patterns into the urban space, reshaping it into endless configurations. The projection exploring the plastic essence of matter occurred in 2022 during “BLIK BLIK,” Pilsen’s Festival of Light that features the School of VideoMapping, a program aimed at fostering young creative talents.

Based on the purest idea of cinematography (from kìnema “movement” and γράφειν, gràphein “to write”), PoƏms² is a visual abstraction and an interplay of primal forces that never releases its tension. With projected light and motion, the façade is transformed into a pulsating, breathing entity. The outcome is a colossal photogenic entity, a luminous sculpture that moulds plasticity from the stone and releases its hidden kinetic potential.

In an ancient future where electric canvases shape stones and neon glazes meld with archetypal patterns, a journey unfolds toward higher dimensions, far beyond the threshold of reason. The viewer gets swallowed in swirls of contrasts, similarities, diffractions, and convergences. Uncharted realms await discovery, where humanity harmonises with nature’s universal language and ceaseless rhythm.

THE URBAN SPACE

Regarded as one of the surviving remnants of the ancient Pilsen gates,  the Branka area and the city’s historical centre are undergoing substantial transformations and renovations. The architectural rejuvenation of this site was initiated and led by the Study and Research Library, housed in the same building that once hosted the monastery of Dominican nuns. Captured in the perpetual motion and regenerative light of “PoƏms²,” the clock tower of the former convent visually embodies its pivotal role as a catalyst for change within the urban space.
