BLIK BLIK – Open Call 2025

The City of Pilsen, as a former European Capital of Culture, is taking care of local talents and, as a result, organizing the 3rd edition of the School of Videomapping within the BLIK BLIK Festival of Light and Art in public space in Pilsen, CZ.
SOV is a “capacity building program for local talents related to the Pilsen Region” to discover and approach the light as a sensitive tool to describe, expand, and embed visual storytelling into experiential space, a challenging opportunity oriented towards the near future.

Submit the following documents in English

DEADLINE – FEBRUARY 23th

RESUME (maximum two pages)
MOTIVATION LETTER (maximum of 500 words)
PORTFOLIO (showreel and web portfolio are accepted; please submit a link to the online version).

ABOUT

Explore various set-up and techniques.
Practice on several software/hardware solution.
Develop relations between light, objects, spaces.

The course is designed for both beginners and professionals. It showcases new possibilities towards the application of projection technologies in architecture, design, installation, visual arts, theatre, and multimedia environments.

The training program consists of online introductions and onsite modules that cover theoretical studies and workshop practice. This format allows for innovative learning methods and creates virtual workspaces for collaboration.

The School of Videomapping is a training program for creators from different areas, organized by BLIK BLIK festival under the DEPO2015 Creative Zone umbrella.

During the event, each student will have the opportunity to present their unique approach, presenting their final work on the facade of Town Hall , Pilsen District n°2 between on 21 and 22 MARCH 2025.

The winner of the contest will receive prize money and software prizes from our sponsors.

The program is directed by Professor Luca Pulvirenti, the founder and creative director of @mammasONica Studio. The working language is English, but there is no need to worry if you are not fluent in it; the visual language is universal for all of us from the creative sector ;-).
