Inspired by the clairvoyant idea of kineticism, lighting design students from DF JAMU Brno have breathed new life into the work of Zdeněk Pešánek for the opening exhibition at Edison Kino in Prague. Video installation by lighting design students from the Janacek Academy of Performing Arts has breathed new life into the famous light and kinetic sculpture by Zdeněk Pešánek. Movement, technology, interconnection of different media. Technologies are changing, but the fascination remains. Led by Italian video artist, animator and teacher Luca Pulvirenti, students will use contemporary media to respond to Pesanek’s visionary idea of kinetic art.

Building on Pešánek’s groundbreaking approach, the installation combines vivid projections, dynamic lighting, and sculptural elements to create an immersive experience. It pays homage to Pešánek’s legacy while introducing fresh, modern perspectives through the lens of today’s technology. The exhibit explores how motion and light can evoke emotion, transforming the space into a pulsating canvas. The project also serves as a bridge between the past and the future, highlighting the timeless appeal of kinetic art.
