The first edition of the School of Videomapping was born in an extremely delicate period for the whole world. Between closures and restrictions, we are all looking for a bit of normality and the possibility of creating moments of sharing and participation. Therefore the idea of design a blended workshop that places no limits on creativity and experience.
In this panorama Prof. Luca Pulvirenti, has conducted a training course that brought together a group of creators from various areas to generate work with both individual talent and collective harmony.
The students created and exhibited their personal site specific project, built and adapted for the facade of the União de Freguesias Gloria Vera Cruz, in front of the Prisma Festival audience.
A particular building with simple and symmetrical lines, a maximum and disruptive presence that rises as a monolith and wraps around the square of Largo Capitão Maia Magalhães in Aveiro.
Between collages, generative texts, classical ornaments and symbols of the Portuguese tradition, in just 4 days the students were able to learn the basics of videomapping projection techniques and give the public kaleidoscopic and panoramic visualisations with a strong visual and narrative identity.
