Partitura#01

Napa lighted art festival 2020

Riverfront building – Napa Valley | CA

the first of a series of visual composition

The Riverfront building served as the stage for an optical music exhibition during the 2020 “Napa Lighted Art Festival,” making the boundaries between music, visual art, and urban environment indiscernible.”Partitura” inaugurates a series of compositions exploring the interplay of abstract sounds with urban motion. The alchemy of visual music envelopes the structure, causing it to expand, fragment, and create openings within its walls.

Amid the projection of “Partitura,” the building hosted a continuous carnival of shapes and sounds, exuberantly celebrating this vibrant fusion. The synergy of kinetic patterns and archetypal harmonies generated a diffusion score, unifying the elements of Napa’s Riverfront building into a polyphonic whole. Elements such as rhythm, melody, and other musical components combined, creating an abstract visual flow integrated into the cityscape. The outcome is an enticing cross-disciplinary experience, an alluring tempo orchestrated by imagery and sound.

THE URBAN SPACE

The Riverfront building is a gateway to the city’s core and a pivotal element in Downtown Napa’s revitalisation. Its strategic location places it at the heart of the community, serving as a vital intersection where pedestrian pathways, riverfront promenades, roads, and public transport converge.

The mapping process harnesses the numerous angles of the Venetian-style building to craft a dynamic, multi-faceted, and luminous architecture. Similar to how polyphony harmonises distinct melodies, the Riverfront building unites the paths of its citizens, shaping a complex urban choreography.
